I’m still around…. just not here much anymore!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am still (slowly) publishing some content to my YouTube channel. Honestly, it’s just easier to shoot some video and do some basic editing and then publishing that… Lets face it, I talk enough in my videos to get my point across, lol! Besides, a majority of my time here on my blog was spent writing up everything I basically said in my video… which is a lot, and took an equal amount of time typing up… a lot! So I am giving this method a try for a while. And as I said, while I may not have (m)any new content popping up over here on my blog, there may be some popping up over on my youTube channel, so if you haven’t already, head on over there and hit that subscription button to keep up with it! JMT 2018 Thru Hike Update

So, the JMT thru hike that I had planned for 2018 didn’t go quite as I had planned… Since the hike I have received several messages asking how the hike went, so I finally made the above video. However, I never got around to sharing it here on my blog… so here it is… over here, on my blog.

Stick’s 2018 JMT Gear List

For the past 19 months I have been planning my own JMT hike. During those months I have spent time dreaming about the hike… time planning the hike… and time thinking that it would never get here. But now here we are, less than 2 weeks away from our adventure in the Sierra Nevada’s! And after all this time, it’s a bit unbelievable now… lol!

RODE VideoMicro & MicMe: My Pick for the JMT

A few weeks back I picked up a RODE MicMe and was immediately impressed with the way this mic (and the fuzzy windscreen) blocked the wind noise and focused on my voice! However, I still had some issues with the mic… well, not really the mic, but more so with the set-up. The problem was my iPhone 8 Plus does not have an audio jack, and the MicMe was designed specifically with an audio jack in mind.
